Pinwheel fun for FMS#54

Hi there,
I am loving the simple sketches at Freshly Made Sketches, I am so glad I found this sight! The DT team are inspiring. I am also glad that I finally have a bit more time to play along in some challenges.

This sketch is by JenniferT

During the week I got my order with the sweet and adorable Patio Party DSP and couldn't go past using it for this sketch. I decided on the cupcake paper and used the pinwheel as inspiration for the 'any shape'.

The colours I chose are Primrose Pink, Pool Party and Whisper White because they all go great with this DSP pack. I just wish my photo's came out better because the colours are fantastic!
The pinwheel is Pool Party card stock that has been run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots EF and then lined with DSP. This was then mounted to the tag from the Two Tags Bigz die which I have stamped and embossed in white EP and also run through with the EF. A brad in the center secures it all. Such a fun card!! It reminds me of going to the local carnivals when we were kids.

Supplies List:

Card Stock: Whisper White, Primrose Pink, Pool Party
DSP: Patio Party
Stamp Set: A word for You
Others: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, White Embossing Powder, Two Tags Bigz Die, Brad

JAI #137 Happy 50th

Hi There,

One of my work colleagues is turning 50 this week so I gathered inspiration from the sketch at Just Add Ink to make her a card. I decided on soft colours and my all time favourite stamp set "Bordering on Romance".

Here is the sketch:

And this is my card:

The colours I have used are Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petal, Pool Party, Baja Breeze and a touch of Always Artichoke, oh and course Whisper White. Very pretty colours together. This is the best image for using the "Out of the Box" technique with my dies so I couldn't go past adding that to the oval centerpiece.

Supply List:
Card Stock: Baja Breeze and Whisper White
DSP: Twitterpated, Comfort Cafe
Stamp sets: Bordering on Romance, Memorable Moments
Inks: Black Staz On, Primrose Petal, Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, Always Artichoke.
Others: Blender Pen, oval dies

Thanks for stopping by Dani  xoxox

Just Add...Children in the sun!

Over at Just Add Ink this week the challenge is to make a kids card or just add children and I have done just that. With the sun finally shining here in Victoria, Australia, it has put me into a summer mood so out came the cute, but rarely inked, Sunny Fun stamp set.

Once again the watercolour pencils and blender pen came out to colour this image and what says Summer more than a few children splashing around in the swimming pool. I wanted to keep it bright and cheery so added the coloured row of pennant flags. Now all that is left to do is wait a few months until summer arrives! LOL

Card Stock: Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Night of Navy textured, Whisper White.
DSP: Big Top Birthday (retired)
Other: Water Colour Pencils, Blender pen, ProMarkers.
Baker's twine.
Tools: Pennant Punch.

Seasons Greetings for FMS#53

Hi there,
today's card is my entry for the fab sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.
With Christmas just around the corner, it's time to start using all of those wonderful new products in the Stampin' Up! mini.

I flip the sketch and used stamping for my stripe effect rather than DSP papers so the stamp-a-ma-jig got a work out. I am loving the in colour Gumball Green at the moments so have teamed that up with Cherry cobbler and created this clean and simple Christmas card. A few added sparkles and a bow to top off the bauble and there's a cute card.

Supply List
Card Stock: Whisper white and Gumball Green

Ink: Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler and Summer Starfruit.

Stamp Sets: Curly Cute, Ornament Keepsakes

Embellishments: Satin Stitched Ribbon , Baker's Twine , Dazzling Detail

Other: Holiday Ornaments Framelits, Stamp-a-ma-jig,

Colour Combo for JAI #135

I know, I know, nothing for months and now two post in a matter of days. Well the car racing is on the telly, what can I say. LOL I really need to make display cards for my workshops and what better way to get some inspiration than to participate in a blog challenge.

Today I am going to share a card I have made for JAI #135 challenge. To enter you must use these four colours.

I have used a nifty little idea i discovered while playing around with my Big Shot Edgelits. I used the scalloped edgelit die from the Adorning Accents set. If you rotate the die and line the points up in the center of each scallop you end up with the cute ric rak strip.

Tip: Use a small piece of contact tape to hold die in place before cutting.

This one is right! Pink Pirouette, Olive Green and Real Red

The flowers are stamped from Stampin' Up's Betsy's Blossoms and I gave them a two tone look by inking in Pink Pirouette and then using a dauber directly onto the stamp to add some Real Red ((Rose Red first card!)). I used the same technique on the Papillon Potpourri butterfly but added some Green Olive as well. The quote comes from Fabulous Florets.

This is my first card I did in the WRONG colours!

I hope you like my card and do have a go at making the Ric Rak, its very easy to do with great results.

Summer Afternoon for Freshly Made

Oh my has it really been 6 months since I was last here! Unfortunately life has been getting in the way of my blogging, however I have recently been able to free up some time so that I can start participating in some blog challenges again.

I recently discovered the Freshly Made Sketches blog and since they are celebrating their one year anniversary this week, what a perfect time to enter a card. The challenge this week is to make a card using any of the past sketches. I have decided to use FMS#3 for my card.

Stampin' Up's Summer Afternoon hostess set has the sweetest little image which I have coloured with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I decided to split the quote up to fit in and fill the layout of the sketch.

This is my first entry at FMS but I think I will soon become a regular.
